Scissors are made from a particular steel for blades called special stainless steel.
Our products are made from the highest grade of steel, which has earned a worldwide reputation in the blade industry. It is characterised by extremely small particles, with the result that our scissors able to maintain their sharpness for a long time.
The reason is that the movable and static blades rub against each other, so wear is unavoidable, but small particles can limit the wear. However, larger particles cause more wear at the tip, making it impossible for scissors to maintain their sharpness.
As the comparison image shows, the finer steel has smaller particles and minimal wear. As the particles get even smaller, they cohere and align to each other. This produces Flexibility and a pleasant cutting feel.
We use the highest grade of steel available. It is unmatched in terms of sharpness, sustainable cutting ability, and Flexibility.
SG2
This is a super-high-grade blade steel that is not normally used for hairdresser’s scissors. Unlike low-quality material, it has a uniformly fine structure with no bias in its metal composition. It is a steel that can be used permanently because of its sharp yet gentle cutting feel and high durability. It is one of the rarest and mostly highly ranked blade materials in the world.
VG10
This steel contains carefully selected, highly pure raw material as a base, combined with large amounts of rare metals. Unlike low-quality material, it has a uniformly fine structure with no bias in its metal composition. It is a steel that can be used permanently because of its sharp yet gentle cutting feel and high durability. It is one of the rarest and mostly highly ranked blade materials in Europe.
